Umbrella Pines in Jezzine Lebanon

Umbrella pine trees near the Lebanese town of Jezzine. The variety is also known as Italian stone pine (Latin: Pinus pinea) or parasol pine. These pine trees are native to the Mediterranean region and are found in Southern Europe, Northern Africa and the Levant. Their edible nuts have been used since prehistoric times.
