Bratislava Old Town

Roland Fountain in Bratislava

The Roland Fountain (in Slovak: Rolandova fontána) is the most famous fountain in Bratislava. It is located in the Main Square of the Old Town and is one of the city's landmarks.

The fountain is sometimes referred to as Maximillian fountains because construction was ordered by Maximillian II, the King Of Hungary. The fountain is topped by a statue of Maximillian in full knight armour.

Bratislava Old Town

Michalska or St. Michael Street is a busy street in the Old Town of Bratislava.

Michael's Gate in the Center of Bratislava

Michael's Gate (in Slovak: Michalska Brana) forms the eastern entrance to the Old Town of Bratislava. This is the only watchtower which has remained from the city's original fortification. The clock tower was built in the early 14th century and has been rebuilt several times since then.

With a height of more than 50 meters, the tower offers a stunning view of Bratislava. It also houses an exhibition dedicated to arms and the city's fortification.

Beautiful Bratislava

The old town of Bratislava is really beautiful and always busy with tourists. This Main Square with the clock tower is one of Bratislava's major attractions.

Hlavní náměstíl literally means Main Square. It is located in the Old Town of the Slovak capital Bratislava and is considered the center of the city.

Bratislavsky Hrad

Bratislavsky Hrad: the Bratislava Castle standing proudly on the top of a hill by the Danube. The castle is quite old. However, it has been recently reconstructed and looks brand new.
