Pepe's Fishing Club is a famous Lebanese restaurant in the old harbor of Byblos, Lebanon. Pepe's club is not just another restaurant. It is a place where the glamour of the 1960's and the nostalgia about Lebanon's Goden Era come to life.

The restaurant was founded in the early 1960's by
Pépé Abed, a Lebanese adventurer, entrepreneur and businessman. Pépé Abed was a legend in his day and is still considered exemplary of  Lebanon's Golden Age. One of the streets in the center of Byblos has been even named after him.

Pepe's restaurants greets visitors with a large board in French. It reads Rendez-vous des personnalites internationales La Tradition Continue, meaning in English Meet International Celebrities The Tradition Continues.

The origins of Byblos (or Jubayl or Jbeil) can be traced back to the ancient Canaanite city of Gubal during the Bronze Age. During the Iron Age, the Phoenicians took over and named the city Gebal. The name Byblos is Greek.

The words papyrus and Bible are derived from the name Byblos.
